Seeking Participants and Donations for One-year Study | 80% Raw Food Diet and Lifestyle

Raw Food Study

Hello and thank you for your interest in this research study.  My name is Angela Hamblin.  Presently, I am working on a Masters Degree in Vegan and Live Raw Foods.  My Spiritual Nutrition Master’s Thesis is for the Cousens’ School of Holistic Health and Wellness part of the Tree of Life Foundation.  As a Registered Nurse (R.N.), I have chosen to work directly under Rabbi Gabriel Cousens, M.D., M.D. (H) at the Tree of Life Center U.S. in Patagonia Arizona to discover and learn all that is possible.  The investigative one year (potentially two) year study will consist of a minimum of 50 people who have adopted the 80% (to 100%) raw live-food, vegan, organic diet and lifestyle.

Intention

The intention of this research aims to provide evidence that a holistic approach including an 80% organic, vegan, raw life food diet combined with a form of exercise, therapeutic relaxation and spiritual practice can improve and heal any physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual imbalance/dis*ease within one’s life.  The Telomere Testing will prove DNA regeneration and a greater life span.  The Living Paradigm Health Survey introduces the author’s intention, research questions and objectives to be evaluated through mainly subjective, some objective, and both qualitative and quantitative research. This survey will be emailed to each participant every three months for a full year.

Unique Study

This study is unique.  It is the first to investigate the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual experiences of not only the average beginner vegan, organic, raw life foodists, but also the long-term raw-foodists.  This study is not only looking at the dietary nutritional aspect of the overall health and well-being of mind, body and spirit, but is also including the perspective of incorporating and integrating a balanced lifestyle with a form of exercise (yoga, walking, etc.) three days a week for one hour or half an hour each day, a form of relaxation (energy, massage, or bodywork) at least once or twice a month, and a daily spiritual practice (meditation, prayer, mantra repetition).  Each participant will fill out the survey every three months for a full year.  If possible, the following dry fasting blood work (nothing to eat or drink for 12 hours prior to test) should be done prior to beginning and at the twelve month marker of the study:  CBC, Chem. 9, Cholesterol Panel, Liver Panel, Thyroid Panel, Estrogen and Progesterone levels, Blood glucose, Vitamin B12 and D levels (this is paid for on your own).  The twenty participants doing the Telomere testing will receive a Titanova Telomere Testing Kit prior to beginning the study and one at the end (this is paid for via donations to the Tree of Life Foundation).  Everyone who is a part of the study is invited to continue for one more year to provide a further in depth aspect to this research studies results.  As a member of the American Holistic Nurses Association, the author intends to present the findings of this research study to the world in hopes to bridge the gaps of traditional medicine versus holistic alternative healing.

This study and future studies alike are necessary in order to share the evidenced based findings of this research on a vegan, organic, raw live food diet, exercise (rebounder, walking yoga, etc.), therapeutic relaxation (massage, bodywork, energy work, etc.), and a spiritual practice (meditation, prayer, mantra repetition, etc.) upon the whole mind-body-spirit complex and integrate these results into the traditional Western medicine and nutritional fields, along with the whole world.  Many healthcare fields are beginning to embrace and respect the nutritional and healing value of live foods, therapeutic massage, yoga and meditation more than ever before.  There is also a great need to further present studies to incorporate the whole person perspective healing of the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual aspects of live food in our diet; exercise such as yoga, walking, biking, swimming, etc.; mind calming or quieting through prayer, mantra repetition or meditation; and a spiritual merging with the Divine Oneness within and all around.

Purpose

The purpose of this study is to present to the world the positive benefits and or negative effects, if any, of an 80% organic, vegan, raw live food diet along with a holistic well balanced lifestyle in mind, body and spirit.   The research study results will express the holistic healing effects of the person’s physical body, mental and emotional behavior, spiritual connection, social and environmental factors, and overall quality of life of an average person.  This study is to examine the dietary practices, attitudes, and experiences of people from all around the world who are practicing an 80 to 100% vegan, organic, raw live food lifestyle along with a holistic approach in the form of therapeutic massage/energy/bodywork, exercise, and a spiritual practice.  The plan is to identify the positive and negative trends existing within the population of both the beginner as well as the established (2 years or longer) raw food lifestyle involving the mind, body and spirit perspectives, which will provide further understanding and clarity of the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual healings of a raw food diet and holistic healthy lifestyle.  In addition, this research study will show the findings of Telomere Testing on twenty of the fifty participants over a one and or two year period within this study.

Telomere Testing

Telomere testing measures the length of telomeres, the protective structures located at the tips of chromosomes. The test is intended to reveal a person’s biological age.  Telomeres are known to respond well to a healthy lifestyle.  A person who maintains an organic, vegan, raw live food diet, exercises, meditates regularly, receives massage, and is free from constant heavy stress, is not likely to endure accelerated telomere shortening.  The hope of the author is to prove that a minimum of an 80% organic, vegan, raw live food diet along with a holistic well balanced lifestyle in mind, body and spirit will accelerate the lengthening process of the telomeres over time.

Costs and Donation

The entire cost for the forty Telomere Tests plus shipping will be $5,200.  The author along with Rabbi Gabriel Cousens, M.D., M.D. (H) has started a Tree of Life Foundation Spiritual Nutrition Masters Program Fund for love offerings/donations in order to make this research testing possible.  Any donation you may be able to share is absolutely welcome and thank you.  To donate online, select “Telomere Research Study” from the drop-down menu. All donations that are mailed, should be made out to the TREE OF LIFE FOUNDATION with a note attached to the ATTENTION OF ANGELA HAMBLIN’s TELOMERE RESEARCH STUDY sent to P. O. Box 778, Patagonia, AZ, 85624 (and thank you).  A copy of the thesis and Titanovo’s Telomere Testing brochure is available at your request for more information regarding Telomere testing from angela@treeoflife.nu.  Please feel free to contact me at any point via email, thank you.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the significance of this research is to determine the specifics and commonalities among the experiences of people who have been on an 80 to 100% organic, vegan raw food diet while incorporating a mind body and spirit practiced lifestyle.  The study will be conducted over a one and or two year period.  In the following six to eight months, the author will be organizing the data to bring the research to life.  The data will show how the categories of Personal Information; Live Food Journey; Nutritional, Diet & Eating Habits, Overall Physical Health & Medical History; Hormonal Balance; Weight; Mental, Emotional & Spiritual Health; Exercise, Physical Activity; Energy, Massage & Bodywork, and finally how some Miscellaneous aspects have affected the individual’s physical, mental, emotional, behavioral and spiritual health.  This information will be utilized and placed into the appropriate physical, mental, emotional, behavioral and spiritual health and well-beings final results.  It is the author’s intent and hopes that if any significant positive and/or negative trends exist among this target group that they are easily identified in the results of the survey and lab testing designed for this purpose.  The author’s current opportunity to be working with Rabbi Gabriel Cousens, M.D., M.D.(H) as his Registered Nurse has opened a plethora of resources to make this research less biased and more valid and reliable, thank you Rabbi Gabriel Cousens, M.D., M.D.(H).  The author looks forward to sharing the results of this research with the American Holistic Nurses Association once completed in order to bring attention to the holistic perspective of mind, body and spirit healing that awaits the world.
