Why Chinese Medicine?

Chinese medicine is a complete system of medicine with its own forms of diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, and therapies. Chinese Medicine addresses hormonal balancing from a different perspective than traditional allopathic medicine. When we link the best of both worlds, we get a very thorough map for healing. For instance, in Chinese Medicine, hot flashes are considered forms of trapped heat often caused by overactive livers. Western science tells us that the liver regulates sex hormones, estrogen in particular. The map of the chakra, linked to acupressure points, points to the solar plexus and emotional and spiritual issues of personal power. The tools of Chinese Medicine enable us to design a protocol of herbs, acupressure, food therapy, qigong and meditation to balance the organs that are the root of the problem.

Oriental philosophy offers a medicine that has been practiced for thousands of years and already knew to address all aspects of mind, body and spirit as a whole. Through the lens of Chinese Medicine we can correct imbalances that have caused illness and pain, or even detect and correct imbalances prior to the appearance of symptoms, thus preventing disease.

In her many years of practice and work with patients, Dr. Liliane has developed unique treatment protocols that use both Eastern and Western knowledge to tackle the issue of hormonal balancing.

    Chef Didier Cuzange

Chef Didier Cuzange has over 30 years experience in the restaurant business with a French culinary background and extensive cooking and teaching experience; his love for food is reflected in his creation of a wholesome, healthy cuisine that is tantalizing to the palate. After two years of college learning the basics of traditional French cuisine, he continued his training in famous restaurants in Paris, such as “Maxim’s” and “Fouquet’s” on the most famous avenue in Paris, the “Champs Elysee.”

After his service in the French navy Didier moved to North Carolina, where he was involved in various regional restaurants. He later operated his own restaurant, “Frenchy’s Café,” specializing in crepes and yummy vegetarian dishes. He then moved on to become a chef at a famous local restaurant, “Lulu’s,” where he worked for 18 years. They still carry many of his innovative vegetarian dishes. Chef Didier also worked for four years in the Tree of Life Café where guest enjoyed his wonderful raw food dishes.

After Liliane and Didier met, they founded an integrated health center in Asheville, NC helping people recover from various illnesses, teaching classes on nutrition, practical cooking skills and self care. Didier and Liliane then continued their passion for wellness by founding “Changing Seasons”; serving lunches, offering catering, hands on cooking classes and seminars.

After discovering Dr. Cousens’ work, Didier and Liliane moved to Patagonia in August 2012 to work at the Tree of Life Center US, where he was Chef and Café Manager for four years.
